Another convention and another really fantastic weekend! We had a super time on stage and are incredibly proud of our TWO medals!
We achieved our highest score ever at 613 and came away with a 2nd place mid-sized Chorus medal and our 4th place overall medal.
The whole weekend was full of fabulous performances, lots of catching up with friends and unsurprisingly quite a lot of singing and celebrating!
We all look pretty chuffed with our 2 shiny
new medals.
We celebrated in Bellini's
Park Place restaurant, Cardiff. It just happened to be full to
the brim of dining Quartet of Nations Region 31 choruses &
quartets post contest, including the lovely BackBeat A
Cappella Chorus & Aberdeen Chorus.
So in true Sweet Adelines
style we decided to have a little sing together!
This pretty much sums up the wonderful world
of VDC & our extraordinary hobby.
What a moment!

'Women of Note’ award
Another wonderful moment for us during the
weekend; our lovely Heather Byrne being awarded the Quartet
of Nations Region 31 - Sweet Adelines International ‘Women
of Note’ award. Heather is so very deserving of the
recognition and we’re very proud of her.

Valerie Taylor Award
How proud are we that our very own director
now has a Quartet of Nations Region 31 award named after
her? The aptly named ‘Valerie Taylor Award’ is a brand new
trophy awarded to the chorus that achieves the highest Sound
category score within the regional contest.
This beautiful, engraved pyramid of glass
depicts the cone of sound with its 4 distinct segments.
The wonderful Heartbeat Chorus were the very
first recipients of this brand new award and Valerie Taylor
had the honour of presenting it to the worthy winners.
Congratulations to Heartbeat!
