Sweet Adelines 2022 Convention

We had a wonderful time at the Region 31 Sweet Adelines Convention which was held in the impressive Warwick Arts Centre.

It was so wonderful to be back after 3 long years. We truly had the best time! We loved every minute on stage and are over the moon with our 1st Place small chorus award and 5th place over all.

It was also a real treat to sing a couple of our favourite songs in the Saturday evening show. The whole weekend was full of wonderful live music, catching up and spending time with friends plus lots of celebration!

'Unsung Champion’ award

During the Convention weekend we also had the opportunity to celebrate our 2022 Unsung Champion, Emma Riley.

Emma is such a strong, dependable, friendly, fun and all round lovely person. She is a brilliant Assistant Director and Baritone Section Leader.  She has been on the Management Team and always helps drive VDC forward whilst keeping our core values at the forefront.

She's worked tirelessly as a member of the Regional Management Team and is also involved with the Diversity, Equality and Inclusion drive within Sweet Adeline's International. 

Doing all this whilst being a truly kind & generous person. Her background has proved what a force she is. We really do admire her strength, courage & determination. She is always thinking of others and will, quite literally, do anything for anybody.

VDC would not be the same without her! Congratulations Emma.
