Harlequin Gala Concert

We were honoured to top the bill at the Gala Concert held at The Harlequin Theatre, Redhill on 12th September 2013.

The concert was to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Queen Victoria granting the Royal Charter to Reigate and Redhill which allowed them to become a Municipal Borough. Together with local dancers; singers and young actors we were invited to perform to an audience which included the Mayor of Reigate and Banstead, Councillor Dr Lynne Hack.

All proceeds from the concert were donated to the Mayor's chosen charities, Surrey Crimestoppers and the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. Bedecked in our turquoise and black sparkly costumes, and sporting our "first place small chorus" medals from the 2013 Sweet Adelines UK national contest, we treated the audience to five of our favourite show songs. Each song was introduced individually by a member of the chorus.

We finished with a powerful acapella arrangement of "Sweet Dreams" by The Eurythmics, which proved to be very popular with the audience and left them wanting more. What a privilege to participate in such a prestigious event on our 'home turf': we had a ball!
