Manorfield Primary School

Manorfield Primary School in Horley very kindly allows us to use the school premises for special rehearsals or coaching sessions. We were delighted to be asked to visit an Assembly to teach the youngsters to sing in four part harmony – and to have some fun!

Together with Four Effect Quartet, we sang a couple of songs to get things going and demonstrate what it was all about. Our audience, aged from 4 to 11, loved learning to sing “How Much is that Doggie in the Window” in four parts – there were lots of enthusiastic Bulldog basses, baritone Chihuahuas and yappy tenor Terriers.

The favourite exercise that morning was “Time to Feel the Rhythm” (see video) – which just went faster and FASTER – with much laughter from the chorus, teachers and children.

The session was topped off by the children performing their number from their upcoming ‘Big Sing’ – an arrangement from the Billy Elliott musical, complete with choreographed moves.

Well done and thank you, Manorfield, most entertaining!
